Class

Birth and Beginnings Education, or BABE, is the Academy of Certified Birth Educators' exclusive, internationally recognized childbirth educator certification program.

This certification is designed for healthcare professionals, attendees of past ACBE or ACBE-approved birth doula workshops, and others who qualify based on education or experience as determined by our review committee.

Registering for this class requires directorial approval.

Registrations close on July 7th, 2022.

Step 1: Apply

For new students: Complete the BABE Course Application and submit to the ACBE office.

For returning students: If you participated in an ACBE birth doula or childbirth educator class within the past 2 years, no application is required. Please email office@acbe.com with a request to register.

For CCE(ACBE) recertification: If you are using this class for recertification, complete the BABE Renewal Packet and submit to the ACBE office.

Application approval may take 1-2 weeks and we will send registration instructions to you by email.

Step 2: Register

To register, respond to your approval email and we will send you an electronic invoice, which can be paid online with a debit or credit card, or mailed in with a check or money order. Making a tuition payment will complete your registration in this class.

You will receive a private Zoom meeting link upon successful registration. If you are unfamiliar with Zoom, please read through this guide and/or watch the accompanying video:

We will mail course materials to you in advance. You should try to complete your chosen reading requirements prior to attending your class. All certification requirements must be completed within 8 weeks of the class.

This virtual class will be conducted via Zoom. There are no changes to course content, certification requirements, or credentialing in the virtual version of this course. Short breaks will be given through the day as well as a longer mid-day break for lunch.

Full class attendance is required for certification. Please arrange care for children and pets during your scheduled class time, and make sure that your learning space is quiet, non-distracting, and will allow you to focus and participate fully in the class.
